What Are the Qualities of a Football Team Winger?Posted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesThere are two classes of wingers which include left winger and right winger. A football team cannot do without wingers because if the defence is so tight for the strikers to penetrate the wingers can turn things around by either getting the goals or supplying the crosses from the flanks that could result in goals. The only thing about the crosses from the wingers is that the crosses should be so accurate that the opponents will not make mess of them by being stronger in the air than the team. That is to say that crosses can only help a team to win a match if the team players are good in aerial battle and they can head the ball on target. A team that has tall players is often at an advantage when it comes to crosses from the wingers. This is why it is good for a team to have tall strikers that can use their head very well. Also, it is good for an opposing team to have tall defenders that can use their head very well. One unique quality of a good winger is speed. A winger that has speed … Tags: Aerial Battle, Crosses, Flanks, Football Team, Goals, Match, Opponents, Strikers, Target, Tight, Winger, Wingers

All-Time German National Football TeamPosted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesKahn would make it to the bench though. Defenders: Germany boasts of the greatest defender ever, Franz Beckenbauer, as their greatest player. Berti Vogts would play alongside him, complementing him perfectly. Vogts was one of the greatest man-markers in the history of the game. Andy Brehme would play as the right-back & Paul Breitner would play as the left-back. Both have been world cup winners & were great set-piece experts. Juergen Kohler would make the bench. Midfielders: The versatile & influential would cup winning captain Lothar Matthaus would play in the centre of the midfield leaving 2 flanks open for Gunter Netzer & Wolfgang Overath, both very creative players. Forwards: Fritz Walter, the 1954 World cup winning German captain would start as the forward playing behind the 2 strikers who would be Gerd Muller & Uwe Seeler. Walter playing in the hole would create opportunities for those two lethal marksmen both of whom had a wonderful goal-scoring record. Muller’s 68 goals for hi … Tags: Andy Brehme, Bench, Creative Players, Flanks, Franz Beckenbauer, Fritz Walter, Game, Gerd Muller, German National Football Team, Greatest Man, Gunter Netzer, Kahn, Marksmen, Midfield, National Football Team, Paul Breitner, Strikers, Uwe Seeler, Wolfgang, World Cup Winners

Soccer Formations - Another Way To Increase Your Sporting Knowledge!Posted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesThis will help you increase your knowledge of soccer beyond your expectations and you’ll be an expert on this aspect of the beautiful game! In order to understand all the soccer formations I’ll be going through, I’ll just describe what is meant by the series of numbers you find (the name of a formation). The goalkeeper is assumed, so the first number in a formation’s name is the number of defenders, then comes the number of midfielders and then comes the number of strikers. (If the defense or midfield are arranged strangely then you will get even more numbers.) It is best to go through starting with one of the oldest of the soccer formations: the 2-3-5. This was used by England and Scotland in the 1880s! Nowadays, leaving just two defenders in front of the goalie would not be a wise move and it is for this reason that it is not used today. The 3-2-2-3 formation, created by Arsenal and famous all over the world from 1925, was a perfect development of this vulnerable formation and gave … Tags: 1880s, Arsenal, Beautiful Game, England, Goalkeeper, Knowledge, Midfield, Midfielders, Scotland, Soccer Formations, Strikers, Wise Move

Beijing Olympic Games Football Event PreviewPosted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesThey also have Barcelona’s petite player Lionel Messi in their fold. Messi who already amassed 29 senior caps for Argentina is one of the most deadly strikers in the world at the moment. Barcelona is fighting to keep Messi for upcoming Champions League qualifying matches, but it’s unlikely he’ll be prevented from playing in the Olympics. They also have Sergio Aguero , who was hot in the spainish La Liga last season. Sergio Aguero, 20, has made seven appearances for the senior team and should be alongside Messi at forward. Aguero led Atletico Madrid with 19 goals in Spain’s La Liga last season. Argentina is the favorite in Group A, which includes Australia, Ivory Coast and Serbia. Australia, which won the bronze in 1992, is the only other team in the group that has ever won an Olympic Football Event medal. Argentina should expect tough competition from both Ivory coast and Serbia. Ironically both Ivory and Serbia were in Argentina’s group during the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany. What Are the Qualities of a Football Team Striker?Posted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesThe question then is who is a striker? And what are the qualities of a good striker? A striker is a football player whose responsibility is to score goals. This simply means that if a striker cannot score goals then he should not be in the team in the first place. Now, let’s look at the qualities of a good striker or forward. A good striker should have a clear vision just like a good goalkeeper. A good striker should be able to convert any chance to a goal. But he cannot just take his chances if he cannot see very well. A good striker should have speed. This is where counter attack comes into play. If the strikers in a team lack speed then counter attacks become useless. If you take a look at Spanish, Argentine and Brazilian national teams you will appreciate the value of speed to any striker. Spanish, Argentine and Brazilian teams are so good at counter attacks simply because they have strikers that can move with the ball so fast. A good striker should have what I call “goal sense”. … Tags: Brazilian Teams, Clear Vision, Football Player, Football Team, Goalkeeper, Goals, Score, Spanish, Strikers, Team StrikerInteresting Websites : |
