This is football, after all. However true, there are rules that need to be followed and when an offending player commits an infraction, his team must be penalized. In the NFL, when a player commits a penalty, the Referee announces the penalty to the whole world. He will announce what the penalty is, and who it is on. For example, he will say something like, “Holding, number 74, Offense”. This tells everyone that number 74 on the Offense committed a holding penalty. In the NFL, you can run, but you can’t hide. When a player commits a penalty, the Referee (or one of the other Officials that spotted the infraction) tosses a yellow “FLAG” (which is really a weighted down hanky) into the air. So, anytime you are watching a game on TV and you see or hear the word “FLAG”, you will know that a player committed a penalty. Around 2005 NTN was in serious need of donations so they could continue to broadcast football for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The Husker Radio Broadcasts were originally paid for by a series of donations made by patron support as well as sponsorship donations made by a variety of businesses with direct connections to the University or the State of Nebraska. The year 2004 was a tough one for Husker Radio. Less than 2 months before the start of the season, NTN was rejected by KSKY 660 AM, which was the home for Husker Radio since 1996. As of this time frame, the radio station was in jeopardy of closing its doors. Not only did they need monetary commitments from it’s members, but they needed lots of time commitments as well if they were going to stay around and make things work for everyone. Producing an entire season of Husker Radio broadcasts isn’t an easy job at all. You are responsible for collecting money from advertisers to make sure you can afford to stay on the air. The Bills had a 16-7 lead in the third quarter. They saw it slip away as Miami scored 18 unanswered points to win 25-16. “When you get that many big plays and that many turnovers it’s hard to recover,” said head coach Dick Jauron. “It is hard to recover.” “I think a lot of it had to do with field position and a lot of little mistakes and missed assignments and it’s kind of frustrating,” said Trent Edwards. “We made mistakes that got us beat and that s what s frustrating. We didn’t play our best game and I’d rather walk off that field playing the best game we can and losing.
