The Husker Radio Broadcasts were originally paid for by a series of donations made by patron support as well as sponsorship donations made by a variety of businesses with direct connections to the University or the State of Nebraska. The year 2004 was a tough one for Husker Radio. Less than 2 months before the start of the season, NTN was rejected by KSKY 660 AM, which was the home for Husker Radio since 1996. As of this time frame, the radio station was in jeopardy of closing its doors. Not only did they need monetary commitments from it’s members, but they needed lots of time commitments as well if they were going to stay around and make things work for everyone. Producing an entire season of Husker Radio broadcasts isn’t an easy job at all. You are responsible for collecting money from advertisers to make sure you can afford to stay on the air.
