Is the NFL too Hard on Players Celebrations?Posted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesSure, we all love the classy Barry-Sanders-toss-the-ball-to-the-ref sort of thing, but sometimes watching a good ol’ Terrell Owens or Chad Johnson doing their crazy antics is great entertainment and can make football enjoyable to watch. With the NFL’s greedy tentacles stretching every crevice of American society to suck in more and more casual fans, you’d think the NFL would want to enhance entertainment value, rather than reduce it. But alas, refs are now inclined to throw flags for virtually any celebration, especially one done with teammates. Just the other day T.O. was flagged for doing a celebration where he pretended to start a race in the Olympics, no doubt imitating popular track star Usain Bolt. He was subsequently fined 15 yards for “unsportsmanlike conduct”. I ask you, what is so “unsportsmanlike” about that? It’s not like he’s taunting the other team, which he did (ironically against Dallas when he was with San Francisco) by standing on the Dallas star at midfield and spre … Tags: Barry Sanders, Bolt, Casual Fans, Celebrations, Chad Johnson, Crazy Antics, Crevice, Dallas Star, Entertainment Value, Flags, Great Entertainment, Midfield, Nfl Players, No Doubt, Olympics, Spre, Teammates, Tentacles, Terrell Owens, Track Star

All-Time German National Football TeamPosted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesKahn would make it to the bench though. Defenders: Germany boasts of the greatest defender ever, Franz Beckenbauer, as their greatest player. Berti Vogts would play alongside him, complementing him perfectly. Vogts was one of the greatest man-markers in the history of the game. Andy Brehme would play as the right-back & Paul Breitner would play as the left-back. Both have been world cup winners & were great set-piece experts. Juergen Kohler would make the bench. Midfielders: The versatile & influential would cup winning captain Lothar Matthaus would play in the centre of the midfield leaving 2 flanks open for Gunter Netzer & Wolfgang Overath, both very creative players. Forwards: Fritz Walter, the 1954 World cup winning German captain would start as the forward playing behind the 2 strikers who would be Gerd Muller & Uwe Seeler. Walter playing in the hole would create opportunities for those two lethal marksmen both of whom had a wonderful goal-scoring record. Muller’s 68 goals for hi … Tags: Andy Brehme, Bench, Creative Players, Flanks, Franz Beckenbauer, Fritz Walter, Game, Gerd Muller, German National Football Team, Greatest Man, Gunter Netzer, Kahn, Marksmen, Midfield, National Football Team, Paul Breitner, Strikers, Uwe Seeler, Wolfgang, World Cup Winners

All Time Brazilian National Football TeamPosted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesI would pick Gilmar out of the two simply because he was a part of the 1958 Brazilian team. Defenders: Brazil has boasted of many great fullbacks, but not too many great centre backs. Djalma Santos & Nilton Santos would start as the two fullbacks. Other contenders are Carlos Alberto Torres, Cafu & Roberto Carlos, but the defending abilities of the Santos’ clinch it for them. The centre-back would be Domingos Da Guia. Midfielders: My team would play with a double pivot in midfield, Didi & Falcao would start as the two. Didi was the originator of the banana free-kick & a member of the world cup winning team. Falcao was part of the outstanding 1982 WC team & was probably one of the greatest players in the world in his prime. Garrincha & Rivellino would play in the right & left wings respectively. Garrincha was the greatest right winger of all time & Rivellino, although not a pure winger, could play in the left flank & was known for his cannonball shots. Zico would play as the central att … Tags: Brazilian Team, Cafu, Cannonball, Carlos Alberto, Carlos Alberto Torres, Contenders, Didi, Falcao, Free Kick, Fullbacks, Left Flank, Left Wings, Midfield, National Football Team, Pivot, Rivellino, Roberto Carlos, Wc Team, Winger, Winning Team

Soccer Formations - Another Way To Increase Your Sporting Knowledge!Posted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesThis will help you increase your knowledge of soccer beyond your expectations and you’ll be an expert on this aspect of the beautiful game! In order to understand all the soccer formations I’ll be going through, I’ll just describe what is meant by the series of numbers you find (the name of a formation). The goalkeeper is assumed, so the first number in a formation’s name is the number of defenders, then comes the number of midfielders and then comes the number of strikers. (If the defense or midfield are arranged strangely then you will get even more numbers.) It is best to go through starting with one of the oldest of the soccer formations: the 2-3-5. This was used by England and Scotland in the 1880s! Nowadays, leaving just two defenders in front of the goalie would not be a wise move and it is for this reason that it is not used today. The 3-2-2-3 formation, created by Arsenal and famous all over the world from 1925, was a perfect development of this vulnerable formation and gave … Tags: 1880s, Arsenal, Beautiful Game, England, Goalkeeper, Knowledge, Midfield, Midfielders, Scotland, Soccer Formations, Strikers, Wise Move

Cristiano Ronaldo Pictures an Even Better Season at Manchester UnitedPosted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesIt was believed by many that the Porugal international midfield maestro would be off on his way to Spain’s La Liga, where Real Madrid were expected to be Ronaldo’s third club. Cristiano Ronaldo ended all speculation by stating in a press-conference that he wants to stay with Manchester United, and that he is very happy living in Manchester. It is definitely believed that Ronaldo will go to Madrid in the future, but for now he will have at least one more sseason with United in England. Most people also believe that this will be his last season at Man Utd, with Real Madrid apparently still desperate to sign the young star. Reassuringly to Manchester United’s huge fanbase, Cristiano has gone on and reportedly stated that he sees the next season as being a huge one in the clubs history, and with the likes of Berbatov joining the club he feels that the team can go on to get even more success then last season, perhaps even by claiming another treble - matching the feat made by Sir Alex Ferg … Tags: Berbatov, Club Cristiano, Cristiano Ronaldo Pictures, England, Ferg, Maestro, Man Utd, Manchester United, Midfield, Porugal, Real Madrid, Ronaldo, Sir Alex, Spain, Speculation, Success, Treble

How Football Formations Have EvolvedPosted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesAs soccer has become more popular around the world, there has been an increase in players transferring to clubs in different countries. This also applies to managers and coaching staff. Because of this, there has been a widespread exchange of tactics and ideas. There are many examples of how football formations have evolved and one well known tactical development was the introduction of the sweeper system. For a long time the sweeper position was popular in Italian football. The sweeper was a defender and would play behind a defensive four but in front of the goalkeeper. His job was to mop up any attacks from the opposition that managed to beat the defenders in front of him. This soccer position was often referred to as the last man. In recent years, we have seen the holding role become popular with many managers. This is similar to the sweeper in many ways. This is a defensive midfield position and the player sits just in front of the back four. The primary task is to protect the d … Tags: Football Formations, Football Soccer, Italian Football, Job, Last Man, Long Time, Midfield, Opposition, Sweeper PositionInteresting Websites : |
