College Football Week 4 AnalysisPosted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesEach year the best teams in the country have a solid rush offense and an outstanding rush defense. Saturday, four teams stood out to me as being able to run the ball and stop the run: Penn State, Alabama, Georgia and Georgia Tech. Penn State played lowly Temple who has notoriously found a way to consistently lose at least ten games a year. Even though Temple is tremendously bad, it is still interesting to note that Penn State ran for 303 yards while only giving up 16. It will be intriguing to see if this trend continues into Big 11 play. Alabama went to Fayetteville, Arkansas to play Bobby Petrinos Arkansas Razorbacks. It is obvious that the Razorbacks are very bad this year, but going into a SEC opponents stadium and rushing for 328 yards while only giving up 92 is quite impressive. If Saban can continue this trend, as he did at LSU for years, Alabama will be the SEC West Champs. That being said, I would imagine that the Auburn and LSU defensive lines will have something to say about … Tags: Auburn, Champs, College Football, Games, Georgia Tech, Lsu, Penn State, Rush Defense, Sec Opponents, Sec West, State Alabama

American Football League Records - Legends of the GamePosted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesFrom 1960-1969, the AFL enjoyed the bulk of its success and found itself in direct competition with the National Football League (NFL), with which it would merge in 1970. Even though the NFL and the AFL were rivals before the merger, the NFL considers the records set by AFL teams and players their own. American Football League records for the 1960-1969 seasons prior to the merger include statistics for yards passing, yards rushing, points scored, and Most Valuable Player awards. These records include single games, seasons, and careers. The records break down as follows: The AFL’s records for most passing yards include: George Blanda - Blanda holds the most passing yards in a single game with 464 yards on October 29, 1961 with the Houston Oilers. Blanda was the AFL’s Most Valuable Player in 1961. Joe Namath - Namath recorded the most passing yards in the 1967 season with the New York Jets with a total of 4,007 yards. In the 1968 and 1969 seasons, Namath was named the AFL’s Most Val … Tags: Afl Teams, American Football League, American Legends, Break, Careers, Football Game, Football League Records, Football Nfl, Games, George Blanda, Houston Oilers, Joe Namath, Legends Of The Game, Merger, National Football League, New York Jets, Nfl Records, Player Awards, Rivals, Statistics

Good Choice of Football KitsPosted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesIndeed, football fans can really show their love and support to their favorite players and teams through purchasing and using football gears. Sometimes, those gears really add spice to the excitement of the games. However, there are factors to consider in buying some kits. Comfort should be considered in purchasing any kits associated with football. The size of the football shirts and jerseys are important because no one wants to feel uncomfortable with skin tight or very loose ones. Appropriate size will just make anyone so cool. Choosing the right kit is a must in purchasing football gears. It is not that hard because of the many football shops that are available today. These shops provide a wide range of stuffs to choose from. Thus, everyone has so many options in choosing the best if not, the appropriate kit for them. Budget should also be considered in purchasing football gears. It is unquestionable that some of the items associated with football are somehow expensive. Big Fall For Wisconsin Badgers FootballPosted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesNow they are 1-5 in conference and at the bottom of the Big Ten teams. That is one of the biggest drops I’ve ever seen for almost any team. It compares to the Michigan Wolverines dropping out of the rankings last year after losing to Appalachian State. Michigan had been ranked fifth in the preseason. Both are remarkable drops. Most projections had Wisconsin at second right behind Ohio State for the final Big Ten standings at the end of the year. The Badgers still have games at Indiana and against a good rival Minnesota. They also play Cal Poly, but that should be an easy win. The Badgers are unlikely to qualify for a bowl game unless they win out and some strange bowl committee feels sorry for them. Wisconsin has had a good football program the last few year and usually been in the top 5 teams in the conference. To the Badgers credit they have had a lot of close losses to good teams this year. They narrowly were defeated by a measly two points to Michigan. They came just short of an u … Tags: Appalachian State, Badgers, Big Ten Standings, Big Ten Teams, Bowl Game, Football Program, Games, Losses, Ohio State, Wisconsin Badgers Football, Wolverines

Improving Football Learning - SuggestionsPosted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesThis play is simple, double up and push through. The strategy works for putting a hole in the line of scrimmage as two easily overpowers one. Here are some pointers for this strategy: First, players need to step together, and second lock hips. They form a wall that the opponent cannot break. The double team should focus on the shoulders, and arm pits of the opponent to control dominance. Also, this maneuver needs to happen quickly and efficiently. Tackling Fundamentals and Safety It has been stated many times that a defensive teams win games, and the most fundamental part of a defensive team is performing a great tackle. If executed poorly not only will you not succeed in stopping the offensive team, but you could possibly injure yourself in the process. Here are three important steps to practice: First, you need to stop the opponent quickly so make sure to place yourself directly in front of the opponent’s path. An excellent technique is to plant your foot in the middle of your oppon … Tags: Arm Pits, Defensive Team, Dominance, Games, Hips, Line Of Scrimmage, Maneuver, Offensive Team, Opponent, Pointers, Shoulders

Notre Dame Football Team and Why They Lost Against North CarolinaPosted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesThey lost for the same reason they tried to blow the game against Stanford. Here is my evaluation of the games. The first thing that went wrong started against Stanford when Notre Dame had a 3 touchdown lead. This was in the third quarter and instead of putting up a couple more touchdowns and closing the game out they decided to become a shell of an offense and be conservative. They also became conservative on Defense allowing Stanford to come back and only lose by a touchdown. Instead they should have kept being aggressive and scoring points. One more touchdown would have closed it out for good. Also, it did not help that a highly talented high school kicker recruited by Notre Dame missed two field goals in the game and was 1 for 7 at the end of the game. Now against North Carolina it was a lot of the same, but still a bit different. Clausen made a huge mistake, but the coach should have seen that this would happen and called a different play. Notre Dame was up 17 to 9 at the beginni … Tags: Blow, Clausen, Coach, Field Goals, Football Team, Game, Games, Kicker, Lost, Mistake, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Notre Dame Football, Reason, Shell, Stanford, Touchdown

The Motivating Purpose of Soccer CheersPosted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesThere are cheerleading programs whose main objective is to teach the value of leadership during athletic events. These programs should be broad to include the mixture of physical, emotional and mental progress of the squad members. The program should at least test the participants as well as work out good judgment and lastly to engage themselves in awareness of their responsibilities in their cheerleading performances with their daily lives. Soccer Cheers and Cheerleaders act as a supporter of their athletic teams at the same time boost the morale of the players as well as the whole team throughout the whole seasons of the games. There are tryouts which are held during spring time, which aspiring youngsters may perform in front of trained judges. Such performances will be graded accordingly. The highest scorer among all the aspirants will become one of the members of the cheerleading squad and will be committed to participate in cheerleading activities throughout the entire school yea … Tags: Act, Cheerleaders, Cheerleading Programs, Cheerleading Squad, Cheers Cheerleading, Daily Soccer, Entire School, Games, Judgment, Leadership, Main Objective, Mixture, Participants, Scorer, Spring Time, Squad Members, Yea, Youngsters

Eagles: Peterson Signs Deal and Changes His NamePosted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesThis change might be synonymous of a new start for the player who did play in a game in nearly 14 months because of back problems. Peterson was regarded as one of the NFL’s emerging young cornerbacks in 2004. Cornerback Dexter Wynn, who is a sixth-round selection in the 2004 draft, has to leave the roster in order to make some room for the newly signed player. In his three seasons with the Eagles, Wynn appeared in 28 games. General manager Tom Heckert explained that he always admired James as a player. When James was playing with the Giants, he already tries to sign him two times. No wonder, James is an outstanding good cover cornerback player, who has good size, and a very productive player when healthy. The New York Giants released the former NFL star early this spring while they suffered from numerous injuries in the secondary this season. James does not yet on which spot he is going to play on the roster. Cornerback Roderick Hood is rumored to have totally recovered from some nagg … Tags: Cornerback, Cornerbacks, Dexter Wynn, Eagles, Former Nfl, Game, Games, Nagg, New York Giants, Nfl Star, Productive Player, Roderick Hood, Signs, Three Seasons, Tom Heckert

Watch College Football Online - Watch College Football Online Right NowPosted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesI have always been a big fan of certain college football teams but was constantly working when the games were being played so I was always looking for a solution to watch college football online. I used to watch college football by getting someone to tape the games for me while I was at work but I found that most the time the tape would get wrecked or my friends would spoil the game for me way before I even sat down too see even the highlights for it. So one day I started looking around on the google search engine for watch college football online and I came across a program that would allow me to not only watch college football online but also any other sport I could think of and the program had over 3000 channels that s a lot of sports!. I have since never missed a game because I either watch college football online from work or from my home and I have been so happy with this software I decided to cancel my cable television once and for all. I now watch all my television on the comp … Tags: Cable Television, College Football Teams, Game, Games, Google, Google Search Engine, Online Football, Sports, Watch College, Watch TelevisionBefore you get the details of the best warm-up, let me first share a story. A team I consult with had a weekend tournament, with games scheduled on Saturday and Sunday at 8 am. During the Saturday game, the team got behind 2-0 within the first 15 minutes before playing to an even draw the remainder of the game. The coach knew the players were sluggish and were not properly prepared to play early on. The next day’s early morning game was different. The team reported to the field early to perform a long thorough warm-up. The result from this strategy was an early 2-0 lead within the first 5 minutes while playing to an even draw the remaining time. The important take away point from this story is how the performed as a result of their warm-ups. The first game warm-up was done by the players, who were very social. The did a light jog and some static stretching and followed with some more dynamic stretching before the game. None of the players had even broken a sweat! The second game was m … Tags: 15 Minutes, Coach, First 5 Minutes, First Game, Games, Jog, Lead, Remainder, Remaining Time, Saturday And Sunday, Second Game, Soccer, Sweat, Ups, Warm Ups, Weekend Tournament

The Battle to the Super Bowl - Fumbles, Sacks, Penalties and AllPosted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesKeep in mind that there are also some fundamental differences between teams that reach the super bowl and ones that do not make the final game. The most important aspect of getting to the super bowl is having a veteran leader that can control the offense at quarterback. Other than Kurt Warner, Ben Roethlisberger and Tom Brady several years ago stepping into the limelight as young quarterbacks with little experience, most of the signal callers in the game are veterans that have had several years experience with the team they are guiding and know how to make the right decisions in clutch times. They can control the flow of the game, and tend not to panic in the playoffs when there are difficult environments or harsh conditions. In the end, they tend to overcome these obstacles, and if they understand that games are not won or lost on a single play, they are able to control the game enough to win and make the super bowl. Second, a strong, stout defense is required to make the super bowl. … Tags: Ben Roethlisberger, Clutch, Control, Decisions, Environments, Final Game, Fundamental Differences, Games, Harsh Conditions, Kurt Warner, Limelight, Obstacles, Sacks, Signal Callers, Stout Defense, Super Bowl, Tom Brady, Veteran LeaderThe team became known as the Rams of Los Angeles after they moved to Los Angeles, California in 1946. Then after the 1979 season, they moved to the south suburbs in Orange County next door and started playing their games in the Anaheim Stadium. They played there for 15 years and kept the Los Angeles name. Then the team was moved to St. Louis just before the 1995 season. Homer Marshman was the Cleveland Rams founder in 1936. Their name came from the nickname from Fordham University. Rams was a term that was used to honor the football players’ hard work ethic that came from the University of the same name. They were originally of the new American football League and they finished their first year with a 5-2-2 record. It was the next year that the team joined the NFL and was placed in the Western Division. They were like a lot of the teams from that era in that the manpower shortages caused by World War II caused them to have to suspend play during the 1943 season. They did resume play … Tags: American Football League, Anaheim Stadium, Angeles California, Era, Football Players, Fordham University, Games, Homer, Lot, Manpower Shortages, Marshman, Nfl, Nickname, Orange County, South Suburbs, St Louis Rams, Work Ethic, World War Ii |
