Football - Coach Get Too Much Credit Or Blame?Posted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesThe coaches can only tell them what needs to be done. It’s up to the players to do it. Still, many coaches take the heat for what happens in a game and many of them, especially head coaches, end up losing their jobs. Is this fair? Is it even right? Well, we’re not going to try to answer this question but we are going to present both sides of the argument, pro and con. This argument can actually apply to just about any sport but for the purposes of this article, we’ll confine it to football. There’s no question that a coach is responsible for not only calling the plays that the players will execute during the course of the game, but they are also responsible for seeing that the players stay in shape. This means regular workouts, practices, etc. If a coach sees that a player isn’t putting in the effort, it’s his job to call the player on this and bench him if necessary. But these are all basic things that even the worst coach in pro football should be able to do. If he doesn’t, then he … Tags: Football Coach, Game, Head Coaches, Job, Jobs, Pro Football, Shape, Workouts” For the uninitiated, them ‘re gambling terms. Here’s a quick rundown of things you should know about football gambling and the Super Bowl: Pittsburgh -7: that means Pittsburgh is favored by 7 points. If you bet Pittsburgh, they must win by more than 7. On the flipside, that means Arizona is +7. Bet Arizona and it’s like getting a 7-point lead to start the game. And if the game end 24-17 in favor of Pittsburgh? That’s called a “push,” and everyone gets their original bet back. O/U 46.5: that means the “over” is 46.5 points (also called the “under” or the “total”). If you think the COMBINED score will be more than 46.5 points, you would bet the over. Bet the under is you think the total will be less than 46.5 points. “Juice” on the two types of wagers above is the percentage you pay the casino/bookie/guy down the street, and it’s typically 10%. That means if you bet $110, you will lose $110 or win $100. That’s why gambling is impossible. Most betting on football games is … Tags: Bet, Betting Football, Betting Games, Betting On Football, Casino Bookie, Flipside, Football Gambling, Football Games, Game, Guy Down, Rundown, Score, Super Bowl, Wagers

College Football - Steve Sarkisian - A Real Breath of Fresh Air For Washington’s HuskiesPosted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesThat will not be as difficult a problem as Washington’s current 0-12 season record might suggest. We are purposefully not mentioning the fired coach whom Sarkisian is replacing. Sarkisian and the University of Washington deserve a clean slate at this moment in time. The old guy is history better left unwritten. Before he arrived in Seattle to be announced as the new coach, Sarkisian had never been head coach of a major college football program. Some pundits consider his hiring a liability because of his inexperience as a head coach. I consider his inexperience an asset because Sarkisian is not bringing with him a bunch of failed practices, tired beliefs about what worked 20 years ago, and old cronies as part of the coaching staff. Just winning a single game next season will make him more successful than his predecessor. Sarkisian has been the quarterback coach, offensive coordinator and assistant head coach for the University of Southern California the last 2 years. USC is a national … Tags: Assistant Head Coach, Breath Of Fresh Air, Clean Slate, Coach University, College Football Program, Cronies, Current, Game, Inexperience, Moment In Time, Offensive Coordinator, Predecessor, Pundits, Quarterback Coach, Seattle, University California, University Of Southern California, University Of Washington, Usc, Washington Huskies

All-Time German National Football TeamPosted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesKahn would make it to the bench though. Defenders: Germany boasts of the greatest defender ever, Franz Beckenbauer, as their greatest player. Berti Vogts would play alongside him, complementing him perfectly. Vogts was one of the greatest man-markers in the history of the game. Andy Brehme would play as the right-back & Paul Breitner would play as the left-back. Both have been world cup winners & were great set-piece experts. Juergen Kohler would make the bench. Midfielders: The versatile & influential would cup winning captain Lothar Matthaus would play in the centre of the midfield leaving 2 flanks open for Gunter Netzer & Wolfgang Overath, both very creative players. Forwards: Fritz Walter, the 1954 World cup winning German captain would start as the forward playing behind the 2 strikers who would be Gerd Muller & Uwe Seeler. Walter playing in the hole would create opportunities for those two lethal marksmen both of whom had a wonderful goal-scoring record. Football Bean Bag For Young and OldPosted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesYou may have to regulate a turn to each of your guest to sit in their team’s bean bag. This could end up being a lot of fun. It is well known that televised football games are just as much a part of America as the game itself. What better seat to have than a bean bag with your favorite team’s colors on it. Not only that but it will also be the most comfortable seat in the house. No wonder there will be a lot of bickering in order to claim a football bean bag. The trend of this kind of bean bag will continue for as long as the game does. The colors will keep getting richer and the fabrics more sturdy and fine. This will happen as technology is able to produce and process textiles at higher and higher levels of quality. Having a unique bean bag to sit on and watch the games makes the occasion even more special for the viewers. In fact, why not invite your friends to bring their own bean bags. In this way you will have more time to enjoy the game in peace. Youth Football Coaching - What to Do to Make Your Team a Winner Today - is it New Football Drills?Posted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesWe aren’t talking about new football drills, but philosophies, methodologies and approaches, not a bunch of new football drills. One of the things Hall of Fame Basketball Coach John Wooden did in every off-season was to pick a narrow part of the game of basketball, analyze it, study it and develop a core competency in it. Wooden took things like beating the Zone Press and made it his off-season project for the year. He would seek out the experts in that field, buy every book he could on the subject, go to clinics, go visit zone press teams, study it and seek out coaches advice in the off-season. Coach Wooden did this every year he coached, he chose just one narrow area of the game and made a commitment to excel in that area of the game. Just imagine the wealth of knowledge you would have if you did this for 5-10 years in a row. Unfortunately many youth football coaches just don’t have the base coaching knowledge like Coach Wooden would have. They know lots of good football drills, but … Tags: 10 Years, Basketball Coach, Coach John, Core Competency, Excel, Football Coaching, Football Drills, Game, Hall Of Fame, Hall Of Fame Basketball, Methodologies, Philosophies, Wealth Of Knowledge, Youth Football Coaches, Zone Press

Notre Dame Football Team and Why They Lost Against North CarolinaPosted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesThey lost for the same reason they tried to blow the game against Stanford. Here is my evaluation of the games. The first thing that went wrong started against Stanford when Notre Dame had a 3 touchdown lead. This was in the third quarter and instead of putting up a couple more touchdowns and closing the game out they decided to become a shell of an offense and be conservative. They also became conservative on Defense allowing Stanford to come back and only lose by a touchdown. Instead they should have kept being aggressive and scoring points. One more touchdown would have closed it out for good. Also, it did not help that a highly talented high school kicker recruited by Notre Dame missed two field goals in the game and was 1 for 7 at the end of the game. Now against North Carolina it was a lot of the same, but still a bit different. Clausen made a huge mistake, but the coach should have seen that this would happen and called a different play. Notre Dame was up 17 to 9 at the beginni … Tags: Blow, Clausen, Coach, Field Goals, Football Team, Game, Games, Kicker, Lost, Mistake, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Notre Dame Football, Reason, Shell, Stanford, Touchdown

College Football Recruiting - Playing For ScholarshipsPosted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesAmerican football, known in the United States and Canada simply as football is a competitive team sport known for mixing strategy with physical play. The objective of the game is to score points by advancing the ball into the opposing team’s end zone. The winner is the team with the most points when the time expires. Interestingly, in American football, the ball is seldom propelled by kicking. Instead, it is usually brought into the end zone by running or passing. Running the ball occurs when the football is passed to a player (also known as a “hand-off”) after which that player runs with the ball. This kind of play is often successful when the defense has its players a good distance away from the runner, or when the offense’s players manage to block the defensive players away from the player holding the ball. Passing in football simply means the ball is handed over from one offensive player to another. A pass is only considered “complete” when the player catches the ball. Balls that … Tags: American Football, Balls, Canada, College Football Recruiting, College Recruiting, College Scholarships, Competitive Team, End Zone, Football Scholarships, Game, Objective, Offensive Player, Recruiting Football, Team Sport

Tips for Soccer Fitness TrainingPosted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesToo many coaches get caught up in skills training and forget that without a strong fitness base their players will not be able to perform at an optimal state throughout the entire game. The components of soccer fitness training include the following: proper warmup, working at sprint training, plyometrics and recovery. Soccer Fitness Training Tip #1 Proper warmup: Too many coaches train their players to do static stretching while they are cold. This is one of the most dangerous holdovers from the past that is out there. You need to do light calisthenics to warm the muscles up before you stretch them and when you stretch them you should be doing dynamic stretching. Soccer Fitness Training Tip #2 Sprint Training Too many coaches have their players jog for miles at 50% intensity. That’s just stupid. Do you want your athletes chasing the ball at 50% of what they are capable during a game? Then why would you have them train for a subpar performance. Never sprint until you are properly w … Tags: Calisthenics, Dynamic Stretching, Fitness Base, Game, Intensity, Muscles, Optimal State, Plyometrics Training, Soccer Coaches, Soccer Fitness Training, Soccer Training, Sprint Training, Subpar Performance, Train, Training Tip, Warmup

What Makes the Adidas F50.8 Tunit So Special?Posted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesI’ll start with the good. Adidas Tunit F50.8 Adidas Tunit F50.8 * First off, this cleat looks amazing. I always get comments on my shoes (White/Metallic/Gold) from both fans and the other team. I hear “Wow. Look at those cleats. I bet he’s a good player.” The shoes look brilliant and make you brag about them. It also has a new feature which also brings attention. The see-through heel. Good reason to buy the shoes. * Interchangeable studs, chassis, sock liner, and upper. Lets you change it however you want, whenever you want. I’ve gotten to a deserty field and had softy ground cleats, and my feet hurt the entire game. Now with the Tunit, you can change your shoe to match the conditions. * Very lightweight. 7.4 oz making it easier to lift your feet up off the ground. It doesn’t gradually drag your feet down after an exhausting 90 minutes, creating a feather-like shoe you barely even notice while running. * Many famous professionals wear the Tunits (Lionel Messi, David Villa) Now to the … Tags: Adidas F50, Adidas Tunit F50, Buy Shoes, Chassis, Cleat, Cleats, Fans, Feet Hurt, Game, Good Reason, Lionel Messi, Match, Metallic Gold, New Feature, Oz, Sock Liner, Softy, Studs

Planning Soccer Practice EffectivelyPosted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesIf you are one of these coaches, you are doing your players a great disservice because the simple fact is, your players will not learn as much if you don t plan practice beforehand. A plan will allow you to put together a list of topics you hope to teach your team and cover as much ground as possible during the season. Your time will be utilized to the fullest if you operate in this fashion. This will greatly increase your chances of achieving soccer coaching success as defined by two factors: 1. Did your players learn and improve their game 2. Did they have enough fun to play soccer again next season. It all comes back to your practice designs. Considering your team is made up of kids, some of whom will have very short attention spans, a fluid practice where you move seamlessly from drill to drill will decrease the chance your players will get distracted. It will also show them that you know what you are doing, making it more likely that they will listen and learn. Your kids will n … Tags: Disservice, Fashion, Fun, Game, Play Soccer, Practice Designs, Simple Fact, Soccer Coaching, Soccer Practice, Success

Eagles: Peterson Signs Deal and Changes His NamePosted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesThis change might be synonymous of a new start for the player who did play in a game in nearly 14 months because of back problems. Peterson was regarded as one of the NFL’s emerging young cornerbacks in 2004. Cornerback Dexter Wynn, who is a sixth-round selection in the 2004 draft, has to leave the roster in order to make some room for the newly signed player. In his three seasons with the Eagles, Wynn appeared in 28 games. General manager Tom Heckert explained that he always admired James as a player. When James was playing with the Giants, he already tries to sign him two times. No wonder, James is an outstanding good cover cornerback player, who has good size, and a very productive player when healthy. The New York Giants released the former NFL star early this spring while they suffered from numerous injuries in the secondary this season. James does not yet on which spot he is going to play on the roster. Cornerback Roderick Hood is rumored to have totally recovered from some nagg … Tags: Cornerback, Cornerbacks, Dexter Wynn, Eagles, Former Nfl, Game, Games, Nagg, New York Giants, Nfl Star, Productive Player, Roderick Hood, Signs, Three Seasons, Tom Heckert
