Foreign Investment in Premiership Football ClubsPosted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesIn many ways, the premiership is a victim of its own success and is hugely popular not just within the United Kingdom but also in many countries all over the world. The premier league is considered by many to be the best league in the world. Such popularity means that there is no shortage of investors who are only too eager to share in this success. We now have owners that originate from the United States as well as Russia and the United Arab Emirates and there are more lurking on the horizon just waiting for the opportunity to invest. Another concern that many fans have with these takeovers that are powered by foreign investment is the danger of the clubs concerned losing their identity although many supporters would welcome the injection of cash for transfers. Years ago it was the Italian and Spanish leagues that were the envy of world football and the place where all footballers wanted to ply their trade. These days this is not the case and all roads point to England and the premie … Tags: Countries All Over The World, England, Envy, Footballers, Foreign Investment, Horizon, Investment Clubs, Investors, Popularity, Premie, Premier League, Premiership Football Clubs, Russia, Spanish Leagues, Success, Takeovers, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, World Football

Soccer Formations - Another Way To Increase Your Sporting Knowledge!Posted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesThis will help you increase your knowledge of soccer beyond your expectations and you’ll be an expert on this aspect of the beautiful game! In order to understand all the soccer formations I’ll be going through, I’ll just describe what is meant by the series of numbers you find (the name of a formation). The goalkeeper is assumed, so the first number in a formation’s name is the number of defenders, then comes the number of midfielders and then comes the number of strikers. (If the defense or midfield are arranged strangely then you will get even more numbers.) It is best to go through starting with one of the oldest of the soccer formations: the 2-3-5. This was used by England and Scotland in the 1880s! Nowadays, leaving just two defenders in front of the goalie would not be a wise move and it is for this reason that it is not used today. The 3-2-2-3 formation, created by Arsenal and famous all over the world from 1925, was a perfect development of this vulnerable formation and gave … Tags: 1880s, Arsenal, Beautiful Game, England, Goalkeeper, Knowledge, Midfield, Midfielders, Scotland, Soccer Formations, Strikers, Wise Move

Cristiano Ronaldo ended all speculation by stating in a press-conference that he wants to stay with Manchester United, and that he is very happy living in Manchester. It is definitely believed that Ronaldo will go to Madrid in the future, but for now he will have at least one more sseason with United in England. Most people also believe that this will be his last season at Man Utd, with Real Madrid apparently still desperate to sign the young star. Reassuringly to Manchester United’s huge fanbase, Cristiano has gone on and reportedly stated that he sees the next season as being a huge one in the clubs history, and with the likes of Berbatov joining the club he feels that the team can go on to get even more success then last season, perhaps even by claiming another treble - matching the feat made by Sir Alex Ferg … Tags: Berbatov, Club Cristiano, Cristiano Ronaldo Pictures, England, Ferg, Maestro, Man Utd, Manchester United, Midfield, Porugal, Real Madrid, Ronaldo, Sir Alex, Spain, Speculation, Success, Treble

We have to mention that England obtained the title that year. They were leaded by Eusebio, a legendary football player and they managed to defeat Brazil with nil to three and defeated North Chorea with 5 to 3. That year Portugal was the third football team in the world and Eusebio was considered the best player of the tournament. Now, in 2008, the Turkish coach, Fatih Terim, has declared that he has been disappointed at the result obtained in the match with Portugal, in which his trainees have lost with a score of two to nil. He said that at a moment, they were equal in the first half and the Portuguese had moments of weakness as well, but the first goal did change the match.
