Dallas Cowboys - Still Alive!Posted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesThe Dallas Cowboys knocked off the Washington Redskins and have received an incredible uplifting by ensuring that the quarterback problem and Tony Romo will not be the reason for laying down and dying. The Dallas Cowboys defense was stellar in their efforts against the Washington Redskins, they held Clinton Portis under 100 yards rushing, and banged up or not any day you can hold Clinton Portis under 100 yards it is a great day. The Dallas Cowboys have been giving up the rushing yards like I gave out candy on Halloween, so this was huge! The Dallas Cowboys have in my opinion, at least 7 pro-bowlers on their defensive unit whether they play up to their potential or not, it is not clear cut, but if they do, regardless of their record when they make the playoffs they will be the most formidable team in the playoffs. Notice I said when and not If. D’Marcus Ware, Terrance Newman, Jay Ratliff, Marcus Spears, Tank Johnson, Greg Ellis, and Zach Thomas, who is making a bid at being the leading … Tags: Candy, Clinton Portis, Cowboys Dallas, Dallas Cowboys, Halloween, Jay Ratliff, Marcus Spears, Pro Bowlers, Rushing Yards, Tank Johnson, Tony Romo, Washington Redskins, Zach Thomas

How I Became a Green Bay Packer Fan - Part 1Posted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesFor me, it all started with my dad. My dad was born in Texas and then moved to Oklahoma when he was a teenager. In the 60’s, everyone who lived in Oklahoma and Texas was automatically supposed to be a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. But not my dad. He liked the brand of football the Packers played in the 60’s and he loved how Vince Lombardi coached. He used to tell me, “It would be third down and one, and everyone knew the Packers were going to run the ball with either Paul Hourning or Jim Taylor. But Bart Starr would take the snap, drop back to pass, and throw for the first down or for a touchdown.” And then my dad would say, “That took guts, and Lombardi’s players were the guttiest and toughest ever to play in the NFL.” As a kid, I loved hearing my dad talk about the Packers and the glory days of the 60’s, of NFL Championships and the first two Super Bowls. I was hearing all of these great stories of the Packers as a child in the 1970’s and I was too young to ever see the great Packer te … Tags: Bart Starr, Dad, Dallas Cowboys, Glory Days, Green Bay Packer, Guts, Jim Taylor, Nfl Championships, Packers, Paul Hourning, Super Bowls, Teenager, Touchdown, Vince Lombardi

2008 New Orleans Saints OutlookPosted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesThe team had a rough start, not only facing the Super Bowl Champion Colts in their first game, but eventually losing their next three games. They also lost running back Deuce McAllister who suffered a second ACL tear. At one point last season the team managed to go on a four-game winning streak, but ultimately lost some important games that eliminated them from the playoffs. It was only two years ago that the Saints put in a victorious season, and won a divisional game over the Philadelphia Eagles. What will it take to put the team back on track? Management deduces that head Coach Sean Payton is still doing his job and readying his team for another Cinderella-esque upset. Since 2006, Payton has been the Saints’ head coach, his first assignment after growing from his assistant head coaching position with the Dallas Cowboys. The team has been patient with Payton, as he is the man that elevated the Saints from a 3-13 record in 2005 to a playoff appearance the next year-in fact, the first … Tags: Acl Tear, Champion, Cinderella, Coach Sean Payton, Colts, Dallas Cowboys, Deuce Mcallister, Divisional Game, First Game, Game Winning Streak, Head Coach, Job, New Orleans Saints, Outlook, Philadelphia Eagles, Playoff Appearance, Super Bowl, Three Games, Track Management

Super Bowl 43 - January’s Kick OffPosted by: Mr.Football in Football Sites and The Best ArticlesThe Titans began the season with a perfect 10-0 record before getting clobbered 34-10 at home by the New York Jets. They have bounced back to win their last two games for an impressive 12-1 mark, good for a two-game lead over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC. In each conference, four division winners qualify for the playoffs along with the two teams with the next-best records. If it ended now, the Giants, Panthers, Arizona Cardinals, and Minnesota Vikings would hail as NFC division winners. The Giants and Cardinals have already clinched their respective division crowns. The Tampa Bay Bucs and Dallas Cowboys would qualify as the two wild card teams. In the AFC, the Titans, Steelers, Jets, and Denver Broncos would be crowned division champions if the playoffs started today. The Baltimore Ravens and Indianapolis Colts would earn the last two positions. Securing one of the two best records in each conference is critical, as the teams who accomplish that task earn first-round byes in the … Tags: Afc, Arizona Cardinals, Baltimore Ravens, Byes, Crowns, Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos, Division Champions, Division Winners, Hail, Indianapolis Colts, Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets, Panthers, Pittsburgh Steelers, Ravens, Super Bowl 43, Tampa Bay Bucs, Two Games, Wild Card
